Joseph, Oregon

Joseph is nestled within the Wallowa Mountains in the Northeast Corner of Oregon.  It is located on Highway 82 approximately 72 miles from Interstate 84 at LaGrande.  Joseph is a small town community incorporated in 1887.  It comes with loads of hospitality and entertainment for all ages.  The chief industries in Joseph and Wallowa county are Agriculture, Timber and Ranching.  In recent years, several Bronze Foundry's have found their way to the peaceful serenity of the Wallowa Mountains.  Main Street in Joseph has Bronze pieces on display by a variety of artists - many of them now call Wallowa County home.

Wallowa Lake State Park and trail  heads into the Eagle Cap Wilderness area are a short 6 miles from Joseph.  At the foot of Wallowa Lake is the Monument to Old Chief Joseph.  Wallowa Lake offers fishing, swimming and water skiing for those wanting refreshment from the naturally formed glacier lake.

The Chief Joseph Days Rodeo is held at the Harley Tucker Memorial Arena.  Turn West on Wallowa Road (at 1917 Lumber - across from Mt. Joseph Family Foods and the Chevron Station) when you get into Joseph.  The arena is on the right a couple of blocks down.
