Ranch Rodeo

Your weekend of fun, tradition, and true working-cowboy talent. June 26–27, 2026

Where Cowboys Shine for a Cause

A Fundraiser Born From Purpose

In 2008, a spirited group of Chief Joseph Days members created an event that would highlight local ranch skills while raising scholarship funds for deserving Wallowa County students.

Their idea became the CJD Ranch Rodeo, a non-PRCA event that has grown into a beloved community tradition.

Scholarship Support

At the heart of this weekend lies a commitment to the next generation.
Funds raised through the Ranch Rodeo support:

  • Three $1,500 academic scholarships

  • One $1,000 trade school scholarship

These scholarships help open doors for local high school seniors pursuing college or trade education.

A Window Into Real Cowboy Life

The Ranch Rodeo offers an authentic look at the everyday tasks of working cattlemen and cattlewomen — the grit, teamwork, and horsemanship that define the West.

This isn’t performance rodeo.
It’s the real thing, performed by people who ranch these hills and valleys year-round.

A Crowd Favorite

Spectators enjoy a close-up look at a world few get to see — working ranch teams competing with skill, camaraderie, and Western pride.

It’s family-friendly, affordable, and rooted deeply in the traditions of the Wallowa Valley.
